Macrobiotic diet menu by George Ohsawa – grains weight loss treatment

This weight loss treatment is the most severe one, but also the most efficient of the procedures indicated by Dr. George Ohsawa, with maximum effectiveness in all diseases caused by excess of yin energy and also allowing a rapid equilibration of being more energy efficient (yin – yang ).

This macrobiotic diet menu requires a period of ten days when you eat only grains: wheat, rice, millet and buckwheat, in any combination or proportions you want, boiled or baked.

This procedure can be repeated many times (in groups of 10 days) with a break of one to five days between two such groups in which you can consume other foods as well, preferably all yang, until obtained the desired effect.

This diet’s action is very cleansing; digestion becomes better, hormonal secretions are controlled and skin is clean and bright. Eyes are brighter and you will feel an inexplicable life appetite.

Recipes

Here are some recipes you can use in this diet:

1. Wheat baking

Wash the wheat well and place it in skillet with salt and water, enough to cover it. Allow the heat to evaporate the water, then stir continuously.

It is very important that the fire is strong for grains to be crunchy and not hard. Bake until it slightly changes its color and grain becomes easy to chew.

2. Ripe buckwheat and millet

Proceed analog, indicating that they must be baked without previously moistened.

3. Rice soup with corn dumplings

From a small amount of wheat flour, water and salt make a soft dough and allow to soak 15 to 25 minutes.
Make some dumplings which are put in boiling water with salt. Boil about 10 minutes and then add rice or rice flour.

4. Wheat cake

Grind fine grain (using a mechanical or electric grinder), until becomes like a flour. Make dough from water, salt and wheat flour. Allow to soak about 2 hours than bake in a frying pan without oil on low heat.
