A silky skin for every woman
It is true that most women, even if they do not forget the daily care of their face and eyes zone, they neglect the body skin care or perform it sporadically, while this should not happen at all. Recent studies have shown that the beneficial effects are seen quite fast and they are most effective when using so called “smart creams”.
Dry skin is a problem that many people are facing, regardless of age. With the change of weather and temperature drops the problem gets worse because the air humidity is lower. The main reason for the formation of wrinkles and skin damage is dehydration. Would anyone neglect this aspect of care – skin hydration – if they knew its importance?
Since our body is composed of 70% water, hydration is supplying the body with water. For external hydration it is recommended to use products for face and body moisturizers, and for internal hydration the consumptions of two liters of water per day or at least six glasses of water in winter season.
Skin dehydration reasons differ from one person to another. Some are related to genetically inherited health problems: use of certain drugs, endocrine dysfunction or circulatory disorders; others due to each person’s lifestyle: stress, lack of sleep, smoking or eating disorders. The environment can also be a reason for our dry skin, that is a demonstrated fact.
Most times dehydrated skin is accompanied by itching from the affected areas. Scratching and rubbing can lead to skin thickening and skin redness. Dry and thickened skin can crack, especially on heels and hands, causing painful cracks. Dry air or hot air in the room can also lead to dry skin. To resolve this problem, use a room humidifier. If you cannot afford such a device, put a container with a sponge soaked in water and leave it in the room, somewhere less visible. The water will gradually evaporate and lead to air humidification.
To moisturize dry skin, use a hypoallergenic moisturizer. The best moisturizers are oil, followed by creams and then lotions. Use moisturizer three or four times a day. Apply on dry areas immediately after you’ve washed your hands or showered. If your skin is still wet, fatty substances from your body cream will retain water on the skins surface.
Very dry and cracked skin on hands can be put through an intensive moisturizing treatment as well. Before bedtime, wash your hands with warm water, apply a strong moisturizing cream and sleep with hands covered by a pair of cotton gloves.
Changing certain habits can also stop skin drying. Frequent baths dry your skin so try taking short baths or showers and not long baths with hot water. After shower or bath, wipe up immediately and apply a lotion, cream or moisturizing oil. Use a mild soap that does not remove the skin’s fat layer which acts as a barrier against bacteria.
Dry skin is usually a long term problem that often occurs, especially in winter. Therefore, if you notice that your skin has started to dry, start a moisturizing routine and avoid aggressive soaps.
Lifting effect – cold water
Beauty of the skin always starts with a cold shower: stimulates circulation, regenerates the skin and gives you energy. The optimum temperature for showering is about 20-22 degrees. Jet stream moving toward first leg to gives your body time to get used to low water temperature, and then lead it to the chest. In the breast area, you can do an effective massage by doing a circular motion with the shower jet.
The skin of the torso and legs is thinner than the face skin and begins to suffer from irritation or exposure to ultraviolet rays. To have beautiful and soft skin that area should be moisturized daily and every 10 days you must apply a gentle and exfoliating scrub to ensure better penetration of active ingredients care creams. Ideally, implementation should take place immediately after showering in the bathroom’s moisture and heat. The pores are then more open and penetration of the active ingredients is higher.

There is a Chinese herb that is commonly used to improve skin appearance and complexion, and is very moisterising. Dang Gui. It is what is known as a blood invigorator and nourisher. It is commonly used in soups or teas as well as combined with other herbs in medicinal herbal formulas. I would recommend investigating this herb via your local Chinese medicine doctor. They can give you advice on how to use it, and how much to use for your particular needs. Oh – and it actually has a nice flavour. I use little bits broken up and put in my tea, not to mention putting it in a soup once a week.
